Time to buy some bacon.

Apparently, a lot of people have absolutely no concept of how the flu is spread. Thus, when this recent outbreak popped up and got called swine flu, everyone apparently thought you could get it from eating pork. Pork demand dropped, prices stumbled. I feel bad for the pork industry but have no problems supporting them by purchasing all sorts of pork products at a discount over the next few days.

Pork chops, bacon… I need to hit up the market and see what’s there.

Don’t blame if there are fools out there who think the flu is in the meat. I just want Sun to hit the butcher and see if the price of samgyeopsal has dropped.

Crank: High Voltage

What the fuck?!

That was the most sensory overloaded, spastic movie I’ve seen in a while. It is a laugh riot and it is nice to see it take itself so seriously about being over the top.

Fun times.

Brazil.

Finally sat down and ground through 2,135 photos for a final published count of 558 pics.

Anyhow, here are Melissa and Leroy’s wedding and Sun and my vacation in Florianopolis and Rio de Janeiro.

Furthermore, here are additional albums with other photos (and videos) of Melissa and Leroy’s wedding. So if you want to overdose, here they are, too:

Obviously, the Facebook albums are probably blocked if you haven’t befriended the person. Sorry.

Marley & Me

Boring.

Then you get to the inevitable bit about dealing with the loss of a beloved pet. Then you shed a tear because it’s a tear jerking scene about the death of a dog. But really, shouldn’t you just be watching Old Yeller? That one REALLY hits you in the gut.

Forever Strong

Watched this on a plane. A movie about rugby. In the States. With Sean Astin, except Sean Astin’s getting older and wider so he’s not the kid doing the sports. I wouldn’t compare this to Rudy. Rudy was awesome. This one? This one’s kinda dull. It’s watchable enough on a plane, and it certainly passed the time better than when I watched Benjamin Button on the same plane (it’s a long way from New York to Sao Paulo, let me tell you). But yeah, I wouldn’t recommend watching this one unless you’ve gone through all the other movies on the on-deman list flying coach.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Watched this on a plane. Uh… this one just sort of passed by. So the gimmick of growing younger provides for a lesson that basically says, "It doesn’t matter which way you go, older or young, life happens, and afterward, nothing." Time just happens, and regardless of your life being a curious case like Benjamin’s or just plain normal like the rest of us, the end leaves behind very little.

Yeah, this movie was fucking depressing in its pointlessness.

Bolt

Watched this on the plane. It’s a decent enough flick, with fun characters and a nice art style. Better than Cars, if you want me to point out if its better than a Pixar flick.

Estrangeiros viajam para Florianopolis para casar.

With video.

Foooooood.

Diego woke me up and we went to the market to supply the barbecue. Sun befriended a dog and I bought a lot of local cheese to duplicate what we had on the beach yesterday.

It’s funny how you never feel all that full when you do a lot of the cooking at a party. I wonder if the calories burned equal the sheer amount eaten. Probably not.

Anyhow, we’re having a barbecure beach house party and the steaks are about to go on the pit.

  1. Mario Says:

The steaks are not from Sun’s new friend, I hope.

Look, ma! I’m on TV!

So Melissa and Leroy got married yesterday and apparently, enough folk are curious enough about Americans coming to Florianopolis that they got a TV crew out there to film a segment for a Saturday morning show.

Now we’re sitting here watching it, and wow… we were all on Brazilian TV.

Sweet.
