Be Kind Rewind

You go in thinking it’s gonna be laugh out loud hilarious and walk out realizing you got suckered into watching a sentimental, winsome little film about little people getting by on hope and little else.

Crazy.

Step Up 2: The Streets

Sun loves these movies, and I admit I always go so I guess I grudgingly enjoy them, too.  After all, if I continue to proclaim The Cutting Edge as one of the most awesome sports movies of all time, who am I to deny Sun her obvious love of watching tight bodies dance up a storm?  Besides, it was NOT bad.

I spent the movie thinking, Whoa… this is Greg Evigan’s daughter.  She’s kinda hot.

Definitely, Maybe

Do not ask me why because I don’t understand it myself, but even though this movie had some lengthy moments of nothing interesting happening those few bits that plainly attempt to tug at your heart strings did a number on me that frankly, is embarrassing to admit.  Yeah, I teared up.  Shut up.

I now have a small crush on Isla FIsher.

In Bruges

I thought it darkly fascinating, humorous and clever.  Not a single scene is a throwaway, and the character portrayals carry the otherwise basic and overall predictable plot to a satisfying denouement.

But to get off the “critic”-talk, it was good.  I liked it.  I didn’t waste the price of full admission.

Experience counts for jack squat.

It’s three in the morning and the phone is ringing, and frankly, it doesn’t matter one bit how many years of experience you’ve got in order to decide who you want to answer it.

No, really. It doesn’t.

At least, not in the sense of actual time served.  This should not be a factor and it certainly isn’t a reasonable way to compare between candidates for presidency.  Other factors are more important.  Sadly, since when has reason ever gotten in the way of dirty politics?

Whee.
